The Gospel and Good Health

When you study the four Gospels in the New Testament one quickly understands that Jesus was deeply involved in personal ministry. Jesus spent much of his time helping distressed and diseased humanity through personal effort. We only have a few sermons recorded from our Saviour, however we have many more instances where he directly healed folks with terrible physical problems. Many examples come to mind. The crippled man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5, the demoniacs healed in Gaderene, many lepers, deaf, and mentally ill healed. Of course, the case of the man who was blind where Jesus simply used dirt and spittle to cure his blindness is a striking example of the Saviour's use of simple, natural remedies to bring true relief to the afflicted. We believe that the Gospel message goes hand in hand with true medical missionary work. This is why we have been operating Cabinet Mountain Health Institute for over ten years in Troy, Montana.

My wife Mary has been given special abilities and insights regarding the attainment of true good health. She was raised in a small farming community in rural Nevada. Her stepfather was an MD and a surgeon who was open to exploring all modalities of treatment. She learned many simple remedies from him over the years. As her life progressed she learned that true health is not found in the medicine bottle but in the simple provisions God has made for all of us - pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power. Very simple, but true!

At Cabinet Mountain Health Institute we have a structured ten-day program which is based on these simple principles. The students leave with a renewed sense of hope and control of their own health. We educate through health lectures and educational materials as an integral part of the program. Mary also teaches the wonderful art of preparing food which is very tasty as well as healthy. Many of our students are thriving as they have assimilated the health principles into their lifestyle.
